Named from Hays Farm and marked thus  on the Ordnance Survey map of 1816 or Hays House on the 1878 map, from Old English ‘hxs’ - "land overgrown with brushwood

Kenley Lane

Kenley House. Built in 1823 on the site of Kenley Farm. Development in the grounds.

Old Lodge Lane

Wattendon Arms

Gaston Hall which was the home of the Surrey Fox Houndsa.

Welcomes Farm. This was a racing stable.

Waddington

Recorded as ‘Whatindone’ 727, ‘Watendone’ 1086 in the Domesday Book, ‘Whatendon’ 1306, ‘Whadington’ 1558, that is 'hill used for growing wheat', from Old English. The Church was burnt down in 1780 by which time it was used as a barn.
