West Horsley Place. Long Brick mansion rebuilt c.1630. Big medieval house altered 16^th.  Geraldine Room inside – unprepossessing. Owned by the Marchioness of Crewe.  In the previous house lived Lord John Berners, d. 1533, the translator of Froissart's Chronicles, and the Lady Elizabeth FitzGerald, d. 1589  - i.e.  'Fair Geraldine' to whom the Earl of Surrey was supposed to have addressed his love-poems.
